Match Studio

This was a great in-home shoot I recently did with Mike and Vanessa’s precious new arrival. This little fella was a delight… really strong and alert for a three week old! It was an honour to see and then photograph a beautiful addition to great wedding clients from a few years back. Congratulations again to Mike and Vanessa…. this little fella rocks! 

Granville Island and the Granville Island Hotel here in Vancouver, B.C. made for a stunning backdrop for Danica and Taylor’s awesome wedding! We started our coverage at the Hotel and Danica looked absolutely stunning in her gown… and her entourage of ladies in the bridal party were equally impressive! Being October in our great city, and late in the day, our exterior photo shoot was “nippy” to say the least, but great light beamed through the fall foliage and we had a super productive short shoot. Later, we boarded a water taxi to Monk’s Restaurant, and the couple were wed in front of a stoked and super friendly gathering of friends and family. October 1st might have been a dreary day weather wise, but this couple absolutely rocked and made the grey day sizzle with emotion and style! Anthony is an entertainer extraordinaire, and Sabrina was simply dazzling in her classy bridal gown. Northview Golf Course was the venue for the celebration and reception, and our shoot was done (for the most part) in White Rock. Even with threatening skies, Sabrina pressed on for an outdoor ceremony, and lo and behold, the sprinkles stopped, and the sun came out late afternoon! Could be a very good omen for these two…….

Congratulations to the couple, and Leighton (one of Match Studio’s accomplished second shooters) and I had a great time with this group and their lovely families. 

This was one wonderful, emotion filled wedding starring great looking lads in kilts to sizzling bridsmaids and one lovely statuesque super model bride! Christina married Patrick in a lovely church by the old Avalon Dairy in Vancouver, followed by a butterfly release honoring her mom. We rumbled down the highway to New West for a fun, zany “fashion” shoot and the images speak for themselves! Those fancy cupcakes you see in one of the images below were made by Christina herself (and they were delicious!) and the party rocked to the tunes belted out by a great cover band, Side One (http://www.sideone.ca).

September brought in some of the best weather in Vancouver this summer, and along with that beautiful high pressure system, this lovely couple had a grand celebration to show their amazing love and showcase their beautiful Croatian heritage. The day started off with Mike, his groomsmen, and family “bartering” for the bride at her parents’ home, and the day followed up with a cool photo shoot at Stanley park, and neighbouring Coal Harbour. This was one of the “funnest” weddings this year, so have a drink, and check out this couple’s blog!

How many times have you been to Vanier Park in Kitsilano and actually gone into the Vancouver Maritime Museum? My guess is …. never! Erin and Andy decided to have their celebration at this seaside venue in August….. a great place for a smaller wedding. We started at Erin’s folks’ place in North Vancouver, and made the trip over the Lions Gate Bridge to Kits. The ceremony went without a hitch (except one……. pun is very intended!) and that was followed by a brief photo shoot on the grounds. Great venue, great couple, great evening, by our fabulous seaside here in Vancouver.

Zonia and Joey got married at the end of August, which is PNE time here in Vancouver, and that usually means rain. Not this year! Absolutely fabulous weather for this couple! Right from the Celebration Pavilion at QE Park to our photo shoot in Gastown, to a sumptuous reception at the Italian Cultural Centre. Great bridal party group, wonderful people, and lots of food. Love those Italian/Asian weddings!!

I have done a few hundred weddings in my career as a wedding photographer, but this one was truly different (and not for the obvious reason!!). The energy and camaraderie of all involved in Mark and Ted’s wedding was astonishing…. there was true heartfelt love, exuberance, and great vibrations from all involved. Hart House is a great venue for an outdoor wedding in Vancouver, and these images really show it. Congratulations to Mark and Ted; a great couple and great clients!

July 1st may be Canada’s Birthday but now it is also Chantal and Sean’s Big Day! Chantal was simply stunning in her gorgeous dress and Sean and the the lads were dazzling all at this fun-filled day at the Westwood Golf Club. Their wedding went without a hitch (i.e. it didn’t rain!!) and from an emotional ceremony in the open air, to a great reception, the day was a “10”.

Congratulations to the couple……. you were awesome!

What a great evening it was as I rendez-voused with this super couple on the banks of the Fraser River. The sun was going down and a chill was in the air, but Danica glowed with supermodel professionalism and Taylor was just plain cool. We started off by a riverside park and then used their trusty old F150 for some neat retro shots. Danica is a “hands-on” client who actively did her research on the style of photography she wanted, and the images are a direct result of what I call a great client-photographer interaction!

These two were a treat to work with, and I’m really anticipating their wedding in October.
